Most of the movies made before strait hit the crowing screen will never be seen by our eyes . According to Martin Scoresese’sFilm Foundation , half of the films made pre-1950 — and more than 90 per centum of those made before 1929 — are lose forever . And while not all of them are drop off , you ’ll probably never see the flick that remain , since they ’re seldom screen out . Their placard remain as last keepsake of Hollywood ’s start .
Often , these gleam adverts are just as much art as the forgotten pic themselves . These are some of our favorites :

Doctor X, 1932, is actually not lost. It was preserved in 1978 and done up in technicolor when a print was discovered in Jack Warner’s personal collection.
