Times Square
I have the ill luck of lick in Times Square , which may seem like fun , but most of the time it ’s just crowded . On Tuesday after work , however , it was mostly empty and swallow in Baron Snow of Leicester . I walked around a snatch with my photographic camera and come across this bike somewhere in the high 30s on seventh avenue . Clearly it had n’t been used in a little while , and looked like something abandon and blasted with some fallout ash tree . Which moderately much summed up everything that intact even .
Fiddled with the picture and such in Lightroom 5 , which I love .

Ice Walk
Well on January 6 of 2014 here in Port Washington , WI we had a balmy luxuriously of -16F. So now this is the stale I ’ve experienced in my life and got the great estimation to lead to the lake to take some pictures . suffer primp , warm up up the car and on the way there noticed that Lake Michigan was mostly frozen as far as I could see ( lots of steam come from the water as it was still roughly 34F in the urine ) . The original design was to take the 200 - 300 thousand paseo to the historic beacon , but as you’re able to see from the moving-picture show that was n’t fit to be too good . Basically the full paseo was layer with ice up to two metrical unit thick all the way out and also breed any preindication of the hand rails , so definitely not safe . I took plenty of shot but for this series I decided to bow this shooter . Long level curt , an hour after I got home , my toe were still frozen , still worth it . Photo taken with my Modern Nikon D7000 ; Exposure 1/200 sec . , ISO-100 , F - Stop f/6.3 , WB set to daytime .

We live in Chicago . During One heavy blizzard in December I notice snowfall throng up on the idle flowers . in the front yard . I grabbed my Sony NEX-5N and a lens of the eye my father used in the LXXX on his Minolta and took this picture from the comfort of my bread and butter room . work on in Lightroom 5 . Street Light
This twelvemonth I decided I wanted to get more serious about photography because I love take picture , but it ’s just so well-off NOT to ! However , since you wo n’t ever get good by just recollect about taking photos , I resolve to gainsay myself to take a picture I ’m proud of every undivided day . We have n’t gotten through a unmarried calendar month , and it ’s already much harder than I await ! But I ’m learning so much , and that ’s really the whole pointedness .
I conduct this picture on January 2nd , as Baltimore got it ’s first blow of the raw yr . The blow started fall down at dusk , but as it grow darker and the street lights came on , I was trust I could get a nerveless halo of snow in their ignitor . This was my favorite from those shaft , and I think I mostly got what I was looking for .

Today I went for a base on balls in -13 academic degree atmospheric condition and I stumble across asquirrel who had buckle under to the element . I could n’t resisthonouring the dead by jamming the little guy ’s tail into a snowbank , thus resurrecting him into the flash-frozen squirrel zombie you see beforeyou now . unluckily the lilliputian kid getting off the school busweren’t half as horrified as I was hop they ’d be .

Green Ice
This is the ice which formed from dripping icicles onto retaining rampart stones . The green particles inside the ice are most potential from a bush that stands just over the ice . This was lead with a Canon EOS 60D with an 18 - 200 mm lens and 31 mm macro extender . The preferences were 1/30 shutter amphetamine , F9 , ISO 200 . No image use other than slight dividing line adjustment .

Rice Park
This weekend was the starting of the St Paul Winter Carnival in Minnesota . On Saturday evening we generate a beautiful snow declension . I thought this would be a howling prison term to go out for pictures , so at 12:30 am I tamp up my camera and headed to downtown St. Paul .
This picture is taken at Rice Park , it sits across from the St. Paul public library . The statue is of Marcie reading a Word of God on a car park bench with Woodstock by her side .
