The Intempo skyscraper in Benidorm — a repellent holiday situation in the Spanish east sea-coast — is a horrible symbol of Spain ’s veridical estate bubble and greed . It ’s also a unadulterated representative of the country ’s shameful lack of planning : it does n’t have elevators for one-half of it .
As an Spaniard , I look at this and I can only finger the most absolute of the overplus . But then again , if the entire province is brim with corruption and knavery — from the head of the state to the politicians in almost all the party , banks , company and even some judge — I ca n’t really expect anything else but this .
