What the hell is going on over at American Gods ?
Soon after Orlando Jones — a series standout who act fan - favorite Mr. Nancy — declare he ’d been fired from the show , another American God actor confirm he also would not be returning for season three : Mousa Kraish , a.k.a.the Jinn .
In a message posted late yesterday , Kraish thanked the devotee , American Gods author Neil Gaiman , original showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green(who leave after the first time of year and were replace by Jesse Alexander , who ’s since also left the series ) , and Starz , and also remark that “ the door is n’t closed for me ” and that he ’d be “ happy ” to return to the show to reprise his type , should the opportunity arise .

“It has been an honor to play the Jinn and live in his fiery eyed skin,” actor Mousa Kraish said.Image: Starz

“ So many of you & reaching out to me with financial support & love life . I am so humbled & grateful for this wonderful residential area behind @neilhimself & # AmericanGods . I can reassert that I was n’t asked to come back this season . It has been an laurels to flirt the Jinn & live in his impassioned eyed cutis , ” hewrotein part . “ This eccentric has introduce me to so much and I was proud to represent not just the mediate Eastern residential district in such a positive role you do n’t commonly see television but also the LGBTQ residential district that supported this character of color that you do n’t see on boob tube … ”
I also want thank@starz & the astonishing team there . ❤ ️ The room access is n’t fold for me . If I ’m ever asked to hail back & portray the Jinn I will do it gayly & proudly to be able to stand up in front of my friend@AbtahiOmid & shine with the two characters who go beyond the page …

For his part , Gaimanreplied to Kraish ’s tweetwith : “ Hoping very much to see you back in Season 4 ! ” We know the next season of the show is focus on the Lakeside plot line from Gaiman ’s book , so it ’s possible they resolve to cut down on other game in season three , but think Orlando Jones ’ news show , it does n’t count great overall for Starz .
American Gods ’ own Shadow Moon — Ricky Whittle , who is obviously locked in for season three since his grapheme is at the nerve center of the story — shared his support last night for Jones , whose role on the series extended off - television camera with writing and producing duty . But Whittle also diplomatically removed himself from any argument surroundingthe fresh showrunner , Charles “ Chic ” Eglee .

“ Orlando Jones is an incredible talent and friend I bet up to , supporting and I hope we knead together again . He was fun to influence with , give me veteran advice and constantly gave award desirable performances as Mr. Nancy . Nothing but love for him , ” Whittlewrote in part last night . “ I ’m ineffectual to speak on his situation as I have no knowledge of what is or has transpired , I was not addressed nor am I secluded to any decisions made regarding cast / storyline . talk only from my personal experience , Chic personally has really had my back since day one , wanting to explore Shadow in more profoundness . I am extremely proud of the stories we are tell in season 3 . ”
Nobody can bump my kin . I’m proud to be aside of this diverse mould & gang who are work their derriere off to fork up a wild season 3 proceed to tell Shadows report and the awesome characters he forgather along the way as in@neilhimselfincredible book#readit#details 🤔 pic.twitter.com / PahPC9j3HB

This break of the day , Whittle dropped another tone of positiveness about the new time of year , complete with a pretty cute behind - the - scenes photo that he ’s not actually in ( above ) .
American Gods season threedoes not yet have a release escort , but considering how “ meh”we feel about season two — which hail after a similar amount of cast and crew tremble - ups ; who else has a hard time remembering thatGillian Andersonused to be on this show?—we’re awaiting its return to Starz with something more akin to morbid curio than fervor at this point .
