Ariana Grandefans will have to wait a little longer to see the pop star make her return to the stage.
The “Thank U, Next” singer was scheduled to perform at The Chelsea in The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas on Saturday but canceled due to illness, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE. An insider says Grande is suffering from bronchitis.
Her performance would have been the first since ending her engagement toSaturday Night LivestarPete Davidsonin October. Grande and Davidson, both 25, firststarted datingin May 2017 andgot engagedthree weeks later.
“Vegas, I’m currently working through some health issues and am beyond sorry I won’t be able to see you this weekend,” she wrote. “I love you and so look forward to seeing you and making it up to you next year.”
“Love you the most,” she added. “You’re so funny sometimes man. Thank you for your patience. I will make it worth the wait.”

Most recently, Grande made herfirst late-night appearancesince her breakup on the Dec. 18 episode of theTonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonto perform an updated version of the popularSNL“I Wish It Was Christmas Today” bit.
Grande alsoattempted to visitDavidson recently at the 30 Rock building in New York City after he posteda troubling noteto his Instagram on Dec. 17. The post, which has since been deleted, read: “I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore. I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember I told you so.”
“I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything,” Grande wrote on Twitter at the time. “I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too.”

Grande’s concern for Davidson’s well-being is partly rooted in her grief over ex-boyfriendMac Miller, whodied at age 26 in Septemberof anaccidental overdoseof fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.

Earlier this month, during aspeech atBillboard’s Women in Music event, Grande described 2018 as “one of the best of her career” and one of the “worst of her life.” She struggled to hold back tears as she talked about the death ofMillerand her failed romance withDavidson, among other topics.
“I’m not saying that for sympathy,” Grande said. “I’m just saying that because I think a lot of people would look at someone in my position right now … and think, ‘She’s really got her s— together,’ ya know? Like, ‘She’s really on it.’ Like, ‘She’s got it all.’”

Grande concluded, “I’m really looking forward to embracing whatever happens … I look forward to hopefully learning to give some of the love and forgiveness that I’ve given away so frivolously and easily to men in the past to myself hopefully this year. I have everything I’ve ever dreamt of having, and as of late I’ve discovered that it’s the things I’ve always had and the people I’ve always had that still make me the happiest.”

Despite the upheaval in her personal life, Grande’s hit “Thank U, Next” became her first single to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song finds herreviewing her past romanceswith dancerRicky Alvarez, rapperBig Sean, Miller, and Davidson and in the lyrics, she praises all of them for helping fuel her personal growth.
Grande is nominated at the2019 Grammy Awards, which will air in February, for her latest albumSweetener.
