Battlestar Comics Resurrect Ghosts Of The Past

Sci Fi may be wrapping up one ending of the Battlestar Galactica timeline , but they ’re not the only ones eagerly play with the other . While Sci Fi prepare its Caprica prequel show , Dynamite Entertainment ’s comics have been taking a look back at what we did n’t see when the Twelve Colonies were destroy … and even before then .

After launch their BSG license with a yearlong series written by Planet Hulk ’s Greg Pak that took blank space during the show ’s second time of year , Dynamite obviously decided that it was easier to tell apart stories without having to worry about accommodate in between the show ’s sloshed persistence ; Battlestar Galactica : Season Zero is set during the first missions of the Galactica crew , Battlestar Galactica : Origins tell the backstory of the show ’s main theatrical role , one by one ( So far , we ’ve visualise the rise of Baltar and the cloak-and-dagger origin of Bill Adama ) , and launching in September , Battlestar Galactica : trace will focus on a group of all newfangled characters – A mixed-up squadron of Viper pilots , vacate when their Battlestar is destroyed during the end of the Twelve Colonies .

“ shade ” refers to the Ghost Squadron , a black - ops Viper team . But it also concern to all of our lead characters and the life they ’re forced into after the Cylon attack . They are spirit in the material humanity , to quote one of my favorite songs : lifeless entities searching for something to ground them to realness again .

Boy , does that fathom like some writer ’s B.S. – but I swear , it ’s all dead on target !

And will we have seen any of the Ghost Squadron before ?

The human characters are all raw and unrelated to anyone . No full cousin of Starbuck here , no tenuous connection to major characters . The Cylons will be very active in this history , but we ’ll see them in recounting to these whole different characters and a slightly different spot from the one present in the show .

Well , that ’s very vindicated … except , wait , the human characters ?
