Bill Gates on the iPad: “It’s a Nice Reader, But…”

Bill Gates does n’t seem very impressed with the iPad . certain he ’s throwing out some overnice compliments to Apple , remark about how great the iPhone is , and all that . But beneath all the pleasantries , he ’s pretty much dismissing the merchandise .

You know , I ’m a big believer in touch and digital reading , but I still think that some mixture of vox , the pen and a existent keyboard – in other word a netbook – will be the mainstream on that .

Youch . Of course , as AllThingD ’s John Paczkowski remark : Bill Gates has made like remarks in the past . In fact , when the iPod first come out he was noted as sound out that “ there ’s nothing that the iPod does that [ he would ] say , ‘ Oh , wow , I do n’t recall we can do that . ' ” Deja vu .
