Today in perfect casting decisions : Bill Murray has been selected to supply the vox of Baloo the bear in Disney ’s remake of The Jungle Book .
Disney ’s adaption is being directed by Jon Favreau , and will have a combination of live action and CGI . ( The other Jungle Book remake presently in the works is being directed byAndy Serkis , and will , plain , rely only on molybdenum - cap . ) conjoin Murray in Favreau ’s version are Christopher Walken ( as King Louie ) ; Ben Kingsley ( as Bagheera ) ; Idris Elba ( asShere Khan ) ; Scarlet Johansson ( as Kaa ) ; Lupita Nyong’o ( as Raksha , the female parent Friedrich August Wolf ) ; and Giancarlo Esposito ( as Akila , the wolfpack drawing card ) – all of which hit us as blasted excellent choices .
The picture is slated for an October 9th release .
