I ’ve been a big fan of Jim Gordon ’s stretch as MechaBatman , and how Snyder has search Gordon ’s role in the Batman Legacy through it . But the Batman we see return while Gordon ’s foe Mr. Bloom bring mayhem across Gotham already feel unlike . This is n’t just a position quo reset ; it ’s the start of a fresh chapter in Batman ’s account .

Instead , he translate that being Batman is n’t so much about being the thing criminals revere , but a form for Gotham to expect up to , to discover forte in itself to do the right matter while he takes on its darkest underbelly .
And that ’s really only something Bruce Wayne can do . As we come to the end of Snyder and Capullo ’s running on Batman , it ’s a delegacy statement unlike anything the character has had in a long prison term — and maybe indicates a brighter , more hopeful world for the Dark Knight .
