The most surprising thing about heist - thriller - meets - catastrophe - motion picture class 5 is that it ’s not the late Syfy production . It ’s being made for actual theatrical release by director Rob Cohen ( The Fast and the Furious ) . No molding has been announced yet , butComing Soonoffers up this awful plot verbal description :
With production slated for Spring / Summer 2016 , Category 5 follows a squad of tech hackers who pass through a U.S. Mint facility on a small coastal township to steal $ 102 million in hard cash , just as a disastrous Category 5 hurricane , the storm of the C , is about to strike and level it to the ground . The only other two masses left in the town , a meteorologist and a distaff United States Treasury agent , must survive the dread storm while stopping the thieves from getting away with the stickup of the century .
That is a wondrous derisory premiss ( a distaff treasury agent ? What fantasy is this ? ) , and this movie could in reality rule the population if it make bold to take it over the top . Fingers crossed that the robber will only refer to each other by their “ tech hacker ” covert names , that there ’s a climactic fit in which that $ 102 million in immediate payment gets sucked into a giant tornado , and that Cohen ’s old buddy Vin Diesel will somehow be involved . Perhaps start the hurricane ?
