Bear ’s music makes me cry , in the in force way . I wish well I could be more eloquent , but as someone who reads , writes , and thinks in words all day long I find myself humbled . Intimidated . This dandy harnessed a vocabulary of melody and grain in his nontextual matter that make me downright embarrassed of the quasi - Germanic grunt I call language .

I ca n’t play guitar or forte-piano . Hell , sheet music itself looks like ancient Geminese to me . So when I saw this contest I did the skillful I could . I toss my ipod to the time of year 2 soundtrack . I reminisced .

I ’m one of those misguided sucker who loved all of BSG ( even Black Market ( ! ) ) so , by nature , each tool and musical phrase became scenes and characters . Oh , there ’s Adama stare over his meth at the dradis console . There ’s Starbuck looking blistering and dangerous and vulnerable , like a waffle Fe with bad wiring . There ’s Baltar slowly , for sure losing his marbles .

I sleep with there ’s some scientific link between music and computer storage . A solidifying of neurons in my brain subconsciously link up the drums and string from the soundtrack to the images and words on the tv show . All very rational . But then this amount on . A manly tear streaky , unbidden , down my manly cheek . The song was n’t about some fictional battlestar meet another fictional battlestar in miraculous circumstances . It was promise , lot , and impossible dream manifest . It was beautiful .

See , speech is ill - equipped to extract emotion like this . Thus , sadly , my Bible about the experience are destine to nonstarter , or at least grievous incompleteness . So why am I Bear McCreary ’s biggest lover ? Why should I even hope to come through this contest ? My only answer is “ Pegasus ” .
