Yes . In last nighttime ’s episode of Preacher , not only was it made quite clear who this season ’s big bad guy wire would be , but Jesse Custer really defeats him . So , uh … what ’s exit to happen in these remaining six episode ?
“ Monster Swamp ” was probably the slowest one yet but that did n’t stand for it was n’t filled with freehanded Revelation , the basal one being the aforesaid villain theatrical role , Odin Quincannon , which we could have venture when we saw Jackie Earle Haley playing him . Since the beginning , Odin has mostly been a digressive character but right from the beginning here , it ’s cemented that he ’s terrible . His employees hunt down the township ’s Hooker for fun ( to actual death ) . When presented with a new business opportunity , he literally relieve oneself on it . And the only way Jesse gets him to descend to church is to make a stakes with him : Jesse ’s father ’s land versus Odin ’s faith .
That ’s when , just when it could n’t be any light that Odin is the worst person in Annville , Jesse employ his power to win over him to serve God . Does that mean Odin will become safe ? Or will he take his new directive in a misrepresented , actual fashion ? We do not yet know . We just have intercourse that his menace has been neutralized , and at the consequence , there ’s no reading of how Odin will bother Jesse or the residents of Annville ever again .

We also fuck is Preacher is not as interesting a show when it ’s not about the three principal characters . The section of this episode which focused on not just Odin , but the Mayor and others , just do n’t have the same vitality .
That energy crackle china in scenes like where Tulip chew up all the Hooker for being okay with their friend dying from the Quincannon clan ’s sick biz , or Cassidy hilariously toying with the angels while attempt to get them to back off from killing Jesse . It ’s also in the sequence ’s most surprising panorama , when Tulip earn out Cassidy is a vampire — because it ’s taken her mistakenly stick him , throwing him out the windowpane , and driving him to the hospital for the pieces to fall into place . I ca n’t await to see how Tulip respond to the discovery
Hell , it ’s even there when Cassidy tries to explain the angels to Jesse , and nonchalantly remark they ’re inevitably break to terminate up having to go on a road head trip . “ You got ta recognize where this is headed , ” he sound out — a throwaway line to most , but take in that the Preacher comics begin with Cassidy , Tulip and Jesse hitting the route together , it ’s an exciting bit of foreshadowing for what ’s to come .

Still , Preacher ’s most challenging subplot belongs to the angels Fiore and DeBlanc . They have their hilarious setting with Cassidy , reveal they have a phone to Heaven , and consider scream it for help . The problem is they ’re on Earth without permit — which makes it terrific and tremendously exciting when that phone start ringing in the sequence ’s concluding moments , it ’s so scarey yet exciting that the phone from Heaven is ringing .
Despite being the fourth installment of the season , “ Monster Swamp ” feel like the end of a major chapter in Preacher ’s story . Jesse has his power . Tulip and Cassidy are caught up . One villain is down ( but for unspoilt ? ) . Most important , Heaven knows something is up , . Most there ’s likely kick the bucket to be infernal region to pay … now we have to see who ’s get to pay it .
