Disney’sSnow Whitewill have to wait a little longer before hitting the big screen.
The release date for the live-action reimagining, which starsWest Side StoryactressRachel Zegleras the titular princess, was pushed from March 22, 2024, to March 21, 2025.
The 1937 animated filmSnow White and the Seven Dwarfshelped pioneer the hand-drawn animation the studio would become known for, and it included the first Disney princess.
Itslive-action reimagining follows otherslike 2017’sBeauty and the Beast, 2019’sAladdinandThe Lion King,and this year’sThe Little Mermaid.
Disney changed release dates for several other titles.Elio, the sci-fi animated film co-produced with Pixar, has been moved from March 1, 2024, to June 13, 2025.

Searchlight Pictures, a distribution arm of Walt Disney Studios, removedMagazine Dreamsfrom its Dec. 8 slot without specifying another release date.
The film, which debuted at theSundance Film Festivalin January, starsJonathan Majors, who is due toface trial on Nov. 29after hisarrestin March over an alleged domestic dispute. (His lawyers maintain his innocence.)
Production company New Regency, also under Disney, indefinitelydelayedThe Bikeriders, which stars Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy and was originally slated for Dec. 1.
Disney’s next animated musical,Wish, will still be released Nov. 22. Searchlight’sPoor Things, from Yorgos Lanthimos and starringEmma Stone, remains in its Dec. 8 slot.

“We did a really deep dive into fixing and making a modern woman out of Snow White,” she toldPEOPLEin 2022. The original iteration of the princess “does not work for today’s audience,” she admitted. “I think she’s 13 in the original cartoon, so we started there and said, ‘No, she’s 18 in this one.’ She’s a bit more independent.”
In a previous statement,director Webb saidof Zegler, “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.”
