Keys joinedUsheras a special guest during hisSuper BowlLVIII halftime show on Sunday, and her voice cracked while singing her hit “If I Ain’t Got You” — prompting criticism from some fans. The following day, Beatzposted to Instagramand defended his wife’s performance.

“Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing !!! y’all don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium,” wrote the record producer, 45, directing attention to Keys' red Dolce & Gabbana bejeweled catsuit and billowing organza cape, which she shed after singing “If I Ain’t Got You” at the piano.

“Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants ! Congrats@usherand my love@aliciakeysthat song is a classic,” continued Beatz, acknowledging the two R&B stars' rendition of their 2004 hit “My Boo” during the halftime performance.

When Usher wasannounced as the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show headlinerin September 2023, the superstar called it the “honor of a lifetime.”

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon,” he said in a statement.
