Sydney Sweeneynavigates a spooky Italian convent in her new horror movie.
TheAnyone But Youactress, 26, stars inImmaculateas a nun witnessing an ominous “miracle,” as it’s referred to in the trailer, which debuted Thursday.
Her character Cecilia is “an American nun of devout faith, embarking on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside,” according to a synopsis.
“Cecilia’s warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.”

Immaculatealso stars Simona Tabasco, who was in season 2 ofThe White Lotus(Sweeney starred in season 1). The cast also includes Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano and Giorgio Colangeli.
Sweeney teased the horror film toDeadlinein February 2023, calling it “unhinged” but “beautiful.”
“It’s madness. I go unhinged, which always is fun. But it’s also beautiful,” she said at the time. “I really wanted to make sure that it was a beautifully shot horror film because we were filming in such a beautiful location. Rome is stunning, so I wanted to do the locations justice.”
