While accepting the award, Edebiri shared, “This is insane. Okay, I’m so grateful. I’m really, really, really just grateful and I’m looking out at this room of people whose work moves me and motivates me and makes me feel and laugh, and I’m just so grateful to be here.”

“I’m so thankful to be nominated alongside some just incredible women and profound performances,” she continued. “And I’m going to butcher just really bastardize a James Baldwin quote, because I heard it the other day but the act of love is just really an act of mirroring, and I think anything that anybody sees in me that’s worth anything is because of the people who love me and support me and it made me who I am.”

“And one of the biggest displays of that isThe Bear, and the cast and crew of that show. I just wouldn’t be possible without you guys,” she concluded. “You’re a miracle and I’m so grateful to be in your company. It’s made me a better person and I hope a better actor. Thank you so much.”

Edebiri, 28, has won a host of awards in 2024 for her role as Sydney Adamu in Hulu’s dark restaurant comedyThe Bear. Whileaccepting the award for best actress in a musical or comedyat the 2024Golden Globes, she pointed to her inspirations — outside of just her castmates. “I am so very grateful for this. I’m in a room full of so many people who I admire and whose work has lifted me up,“she saidon stage. “I’m an artist and I’m very lucky to be an artist and I know we all feel that way so I just really want to acknowledge that.”

The role has changed Edebiri’s cooking skills, too — but not always for the better. One scene that required shedelicately make an omeletspilled over into her real life. “I was making it a bunch. And then I was like, ‘I actually feel sick to my stomach because all this is is egg and butter.’ That is French [cuisine] for you,” she joked to PEOPLE.

Brosnahan, 33, played the titular comedian on Prime Video’s hit seriesThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The show concluded its five-season fun in spring 2023. Of moving on from the series, Brosnahan said, “They become a part of you,” of the characters. “You become a part of them in ways that you can’t articulate.”

Brosnahan’s fellow nominee Borstein, 53, played her manager onThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Though the memories from filming will certainly stay with the show’s stars, the series itself wasn’t necessarily at the top of their watch lists. “I have not watched this show. I’m not kidding,” Borstein toldEntertainment Tonightas season 5 premiered. “I’ve seen the first two episodes [of the first season] ‘cause we went to an international premiere in Berlin, and we were in a theater and then they started running it and we were stuck.”

She expanded on the kindness of her real-life teacher mom  — even once bringing a child home. “I remember one time a kid being in the house and I was like, ‘Why is this kid here?’ And my mom could not put her teacher heart aside to not give someone a home for a night that needed a home.”
